The Speaking Stone

When a mystic thriller with past and present synchronized takeaways is book-ed it can definitely be a very interesting read if only it is penned in interesting yet uncomplicated manner.

'The Speaking Stone' by Ratnadip Acharya is a historic thriller story revolves around  mystic unique piece of stone which connects two different centuries in a thread of love, revenge and uncraved treasure.

Story begins when around in year 2016 - 17 in Mumbai a half piece of stone with a street vendor drown a boy named Saikat's attention so much that he bought it. Curiosity of finding another half of that mystic stone leads Saikat to an unplanned journey to Tripura. During the unplanned journey of his life Saikat collided with Shuvashini who's aim to get a doctorate by writing about treasures hiding in Unakoti lead her there. Little did they know this journey of theirs was aimed by destiny to unfold some deepest secrets which were still hidden!

On other hand in era of 1900 in an old kingdom story revolves around King Radha Kishor Manikya, A beautiful and sensuous dancer Parul, A master sculptor Dipankar, conspirators and most important the place of hills and stones Unakoti.

Are the two different stories of two different eras have some connection? How does speaking stone connects two of the story together? To find out you've to listen 'The Speaking Stone' intentively.

My Takeaways -

I don't really know where to start, I took actually 4 days to read the book and not even once it made me realize how much time has slipped behind it. This freshly concept story functioned with events of current century and past century is defensively unpredictable.

I was literally in aww with synchronization author has made between describing all the characters effectively and two parallel stories differently yet being reliable with each other.

There are so many characters and each of them held their own certain aura throughout the climax differentiated by perfect discriptive narration.

Above all author has tried to narrate un - travelled places of Tripura giving them huge importance

Overall mystery, suspense thrill and all the other elements makes this book an incredible subject of interest. Sanskrit phrases used at selective places did splendid job at highlighting the fact that this story also include era of kings and kingdom, for me that was the most attractive element author had put his imagination into.

Just one star less because at some points the suspections made so over-intelligentically by Saikat It's not obvious for normal intelligent person.

That was one of the fantastic read I've read so far. Loved it! Keep it up author.
